Chainmail: A Primer
Chainmail is a form of medieval armor made by linking rings of metal together to form large
integrated chains. Chainmail is a favorite for renaissance faires,
Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), fantasy role-playing, and other instances where one might
want to dress up as a knight or medieval warrior.
Round Chainmail
Sooner or later, you'll have to create chainmail that needs to cover a round or convex surface
(such as your head). As this technique is best shown by example, I went ahead and took a series
of photos illustrating creating a round chainmail pattern. So, if you're creating a coif, bag,
or other round pattern, you can take a look at my Round Chainmail Examples.
I hope it's useful.
